Turnout: 15.5

Overview (Joe): It was kind a hot. We played our usual mix of games but our last few games of the day were a variation of Civil War, We all had full hoppers, but we lined up facing each other and fired on command, then stepped forward one pace and continued. It was amazing to see what bad shots we all were.

I'd like to thank Brian and Tyler for writing stories for this update.

The Standfords prove that Paintball can be loads of family fun.

Here is a synopsis of a situation from one of the games we played.

We were playing capture the flag. I ran the opposite way from their fort and around through the "reeds" to do a flank attack. I saw Mike come around a corner through the "reeds" also. The adrenaline started to flow, I was like UT oh, I need to hide. I ducked behind a bush and some trees. I thought he saw me. He was probably about 30 feet away coming around a corner. I thought we were going to be in a gun fight and I was going to lose. I peeked through the bushes and couldn't see him. I was like, he is going to shoot me and I cant even find him. I kept looking but could not see him. I thought he ducted behind some trees. Next thing I saw was Mike walking towards my position and I realized he didn't know I was there. He was now closer than 10 feet so I decide to wait until he got closer because I couldn't shoot him because that would not be right. Moments before Mike arrived at my position there was shooting in the field and he paused. Then Mike started moving again and was within 3 feet of me and I stood up and said," your dead." He had to of had a perplexed look on his face because his head kept looking around to see where that statement came from. I hope he doesn't shoot me kept going through my mind because we were so close. Then finally he realized where I was and I could of nailed him but I didn't and said, "Oh I'm dead!" He started to walk away towards the staging area and then turns back around and says, "thanks." I said, "that's how I play." It would not of been good if I did shoot him. Retaliation would not of been something I would of look forward to. Plus that would have been very un-sportsman-like if I would of shot him when I finally saw where he was. Also I could of really hurt him if I did shoot him. I just hope the next time I play, someone would return the favor if I ever get closer than 20 feet from them.-Brian Martin
NOTE FROM JOE: this is a great example of how a new player can take out an more experienced player by being in the right place at the right time and just keeping his cool, good going Brian (also good sportsmanship, giving your opponent a change to surrender).

Between-game milling.

Today's games of "Civil War" was pretty neat. The first game started off pretty good, then I got shot in the stomach. I was jealous Joe was getting shot in the gun instead of his body. The second game of "Civil War" went a lot smoother for me. I ended up being the last person on my team with four people left on the other team. Since I couldn't shoot all of them at once, I decided to pick on Craig. That plan didn't work very well because I soon got shot in the mask. Then all of a sudden Joe yelled,"Open Game!" So everybody opened fire and wasted tons of paint. I wasted about 150-200 rounds of paint. That was about the funniest game I have ever played.
