Turnout: 20

Color alternating dead guys, waiting during the last game.

Overview (Joe): It was cool, Mid 50s, It was humid.

Game 1. {Attack/Defense: Yellow defends Bunker, Red starts at Bridge} (Joe): Kenny and I headed for the "Reeds". We heard some shots off on the other side of the creek. Kenny stopped up ahead of me and was firing at someone up the trail. I decided to move into the creek and try for a flank shot. As I got into the creek and began wading downstream, Mike (an yellow player) came down the far bank and was crossing when I opened up on him. I missed at first and he was able to fire a few shots at me. We both called out about the same time. Red ended up winning. I think Mark was involved in the Flag Raising.

Game 2. {Attack/Defense: Red defends Bunker, Yellow starts at Bridge} (Joe): I placed some of the kids on the staging side of the "Rise" ridge and was going to be the floater. Mark and his friend Kirk, were going to run across into the "Reeds. When the game started one of the kids left his position at the tape line of the hill that guardsthe game trail that comes in alone the lower hillside. I floated over to cover it, but nobody showed up. I decided they must be planing a back door move on us so I took off, to the "Log Fort", picking up Alex along the way. I was leading when we moved into the "Log Fort" compound. I saw somebody hiding in the little brushy fort on the creek side of the "Log Fort" area. I figure it was a bad guy since none of my team went this way. POW, OUT, oh no, it was Mark! The last time I saw him he was headed into the Reeds about 100 yard away from where I just shot him. I apologized, he explained they had gotten pushed back. I put Alex in the "Log Fort" and I hunkered down in the spot where Mark had been. I heard Alex and a Shocker trading shots. A Shocker meant that it was Paul or his Newbie friend Trevor who was using Paul's backup Shocker (backup Shocker, must be nice, huh). I moved out of my cover to try for a flank shot. As I was crossing the trail leading to the creek I heard a shot. I whipped around to see Trevor lying in the trail about 15 feet away. I fired and got him. How he missed me I'll never know, maybe a twig. Maybe beginners bad luck. By the way, Trevor is from the U.K. , cool. Paul opened up on me from the direction of the field and ran me back into the brush. Then I heard Paul take out Alex. I was hiding from Paul for a while, when I realized the time must be very low, and that Paul didn't really care about talking me out as much as taking our fort. I took off at a run back to the "Bunker". As I turned the corner of the "Rise" the game time ran out and we won. Paul was about 40 feet from our Fort.

Yellow Team
Red Team

Game 3. {Meeting engagement at the Bunker / Red toward Bridge - Yellow toward Crossing} (Joe): When, the red team, got across the bridge, I was last in line ( was pacing myself), and just like the first game Ken and I started down the "Reed" trail. I decided to take my leave and crossed the creek and went all the way down to the "Old Fort" and re-crossed the creek. As I past the "Log Fort"I saw a kid walking away from me not looking behind him and started following him toward the "Corner Fort". I tried, but because I was being cautious I never did catch up to him to back shoot him. It sounded like the other team had the "Bunker". I thought I was sneaking up on them as I got to a pallet about 50 feet from the "Bunker" when I saw this wall of paint coming my way. I tried to return fire when I broke a ball in the barrel, then my mask started fogging. Oh well, after a while I decided to charge (nothing seemed to be working out for me here) and got hit. Yellow won.

Game 4. {Meeting engagement at the Bunker / Yellow toward Bridge - Red toward Crossing} (Joe): This game was little better than the last. Our young, fast guys (not me) ran right past the crossing spot and lost about 30 seconds of crucial time. I decided to turned around a walk back to the bridge. When I got there the same kid I was following the last game was in the staging area not looking behind himself again. I decided to get him this time. I moved quickly into a position about 40 feet from him a took one aimed shot, saw it break, told him he was out and headed for the hillside game trail leading to the rise. I knew the yellow team would have control of the "Bunker" because of our poor start. I abandoned caution and moved fast. As I came over the ridge, I saw Paul moving in fount of me toward the "Hog Pen" only about 15 feet from me. I gave Paul two shots (one extra for good luck). Having no cover, I went back down the hill. I hadn't seen anyone in the "Hog Pen", so I slid down the "Rise" and came up to it . I could see Jeff firing toward the field from a small port on my side the the "Bunker". I fired about 4 times before one got through. Jeff yell in pain an disappear from view. I was reloading when Larry took me out from behind. Yellow won again.

Mark with newbie Kirk
Newbie Trevor and Paul

Game 5. {Capture the Flag, Yellow - Log Fort, Red - Old Fort} (Joe): I asked to go to the other (yellow) team so I could play with Mike and Paul for a game or two, so Larry traded over for me. When the game started Mike, Paul and I quickly headed for the creek and went for the "Reeds" between the "Old Fort" and the "Crossing Fort". The Red Team had a guy in the "Crossing Fort" and Mike was soon trading shos with him. I crossed first, then Paul to my right. I crawled through the undergrowth and viewed the clearing between the "Old Fort" and the "Crossing Fort". I could see nothing. All I heard was the guy in the the "Old fort" shooting. He was busy so I knew he wouldn't get me as I dashed to the cover on the hillside. Unfortunately for me I could not see newbie Kirk laying to my left, just out of my line of site. When I appeared in front of him he had time to react and fire several shots at me. I didn't see him as I was running but I heard the shots and felt at least one impact on my thigh. After making it to cover I checked myself, and sure enough I was hit. I called "OUT" loudly, so as to let Paul and Mike know I was out, and so they would know a sniper was hiding in the area. Time ran out and it was a Tie.

Alex and Friend at staging.

Game 6. {Capture the Flag, Yellow - Old Fort, Red - Log Fort} (Joe): I went into the creek and moved to my right as Mike made for the bunker across from the "Old Fort". Paul stayed back a provided cover fire. I heard Mike call out, dang! I popped up over the bank and saw Larry looking toward me from the field. I thought he had seen me (later he told me he never did) so I opened up and after about 10 rapid shots one found it's way through the reeds and got him. I moved up to a stack of rail road ties (that are waiting to be used on the construction of a new bridge) and took up position. I was taking some extreme long ball fire from some kids that had gone the the "Bunker". I could hear some fire from the "Crossing Fort" direction on my side of the creek. I waited, scanning the woods to my left. Then I saw not so newbie Kirk in his brown camo moving along the fence line toward our fort. A second later I saw Kenny in his realtree camo with him. I was just about to fire when Paul got Kirk from the "Old Fort" direction. I didn't have a very clear shot a Ken but I blasted away' hoping to get lucky. Ken disappeared into the brush. I kept scanning waiting for someone to come down the trail leading from the field directly in front of me, but nobody showed. I heard someone yell "TWO MINUTES". I then saw a smoke bomb go off about 50 feet in front of me on the left side of the trail I had been watching. I decided to use it to cover a move on the "Log Fort". As I came running through the smoke I encountered Kenny trying the same thing only coming right at me. We fired, I hit him several times, ran on and got plastered by the hidden kids in the fort. I was out and shortly after the game ended in another tie.
